Marsh & McLennan Agency Names Paul Hering Vice Chairman

Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (MMA), the middle market agency subsidiary of Marsh, today announced the appointment of Paul Hering as Vice Chairman.

In this newly created role, Mr. Hering is responsible for helping to lead MMA’s key growth strategies, including talent development, acquisitions, and carrier relations. He also will continue to serve on MMA’s National Strategy Team helping to develop and execute key corporate initiatives.

Previously, Mr. Hering served as Chairman of MMA’s West region, a role he assumed after 16 years as CEO of Barney & Barney, a San Diego-based insurance agency acquired by MMA in 2014.

Mr. Hering remains based in San Diego and will continue to work closely with local leadership in addition to his national responsibilities. Mr. Hering reports to David Eslick, MMA Chairman and CEO.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Eslick said: “Paul is an outstanding industry leader with nearly four decades of experience in serving clients’ insurance needs.
