Marsh Appoints Eddie Albers US Life Sciences Practice Leader

Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor, today announced that Eddie Albers has joined the firm to lead its US Life Sciences Practice.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the sector, Mr. Albers joins Marsh at a pivotal time for the life sciences industry as pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies lead the fight against COVID-19. As the leader of Marsh’s US Life Science Practice, Mr. Albers will play a key role in assisting these companies as they confront unprecedented risk exposure.

Mr. Albers joins Marsh from Aon, where for the last 14 years he served as National Director of Aon’s Life Sciences Group. Based in Portland, Oregon, Mr. Albers reports to Jeffrey Alpaugh, Marsh’s US and Canada Growth and Industry Leader.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Alpaugh said: “Life sciences companies are facing a myriad of risks today from increased regulatory scrutiny to potential exposure to the opioid epidemic to the race to develop a COVID-19 vaccine. Eddie is a consummate client advocate whose extensive industry knowledge and experience make him the ideal person to lead this dynamic practice forward.”

Mr. Albers succeeds Doug Carey, who is transitioning to a client service executive role within Marsh.
