Meet our Graduate
I joined Marsh four years ago as a graduate. There are many things that I've enjoyed about being part of the Graduate Programme but what really stands out is that unlike some programmes, I was placed in a team from day one and could quickly begin to pick up responsibility. I also enjoy the challenge of working with large and complex clients; you are constantly learning as you seek to solve the concerns and issues they face.
Being on the programme gave me a great foundation for my career. The ACII that you complete and the soft skills programme is recognised within the company and across the industry, so it definitely helped my credibility in the initial phase. It also gave me a great platform from which to build on.
As a graduate within Marsh I remember the excitement I got from my first big win. Working on a tender, you invest a lot in trying to win the account so to be involved from start to finish is very satisfying. I have also travelled to some great cities like Athens and Zurich with work which is always a plus.
Working at Marsh I feel confident that I'll continue to be challenged by my clients bringing different and complex problems to solve, and by my colleagues who always want me to stretch and be the best I can be.
The advice I'd give to people applying is the more you prepare, the “luckier” you will be. Invest time in speaking to people about the industry, practice your presentations and ultimately see it as a great learning experience whatever the outcome.
