At Marsh, our competitive advantage is our people. Ideas, innovative thinking, relationships, and solutions are imperative for success in our industry. We value people who are collaborative, innovative, demonstrate adaptability and learning agility, and who want to make a difference in their workplace and community. The Marsh Graduate Development Programme is an intensive two year experience, designed to attract and develop the next generation of leaders.
From day one, the programme will support, develop, and challenge you. You will be assigned a role in a specific business area which you will be committed to for the duration of the programme. This will allow you to take on real responsibility within the team as you grow your knowledge and skills, tackle real projects, and work with real clients. You will build lasting relationships with your colleagues and clients, engage fully with the business, and build specific skills and knowledge for a long-term career with Marsh. Candidates can express interest in specific business areas if desired.
Graduates begin the programme by attending an induction week in London where they learn about Marsh's organisational structure and strategic vision, as well as meet and network with senior leaders. Over the course of the two years, graduates periodically come together to participate in an outcomes driven, structured training and development programme which focuses on enhancing professional and leadership skills.
Graduates work towards becoming professionally accredited by completing the Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII) by the end of the two year programme.
At Marsh, we understand the importance of a strong support network across the business that is committed to helping you succeed and fulfil your potential. In addition to your manager, graduates are assigned a mentor and buddy.
We have opportunities in the following locations:
In order to apply for any Graduate position at Marsh, you must have the Right to Work long term in the UK and have a minimum 2.1 in any degree discipline.
Broking - Within Broking you could be working within a specialty team to understand all the risks associated with a particular industry and then working with a team to broker a deal.
Client Executive - As a Client Executive you’ll be liaising with your clients and understanding their business, the risks and what value looks like for them. You’ll then be in a position to advise on the best course of action for their risk management and work with the broking teams to make this happen.
Projects - Working on Projects means that you will gain exposure across multiple lines of insurance both internally and externally, allowing you to build an extensive network of talented professionals.
Client Advisory Services - Working for Client Advisory Services, you will work developing and delivering innovative solutions which may include enhancement of risk management approaches, handling of complex claims and use of data-driven analysis to inform a client’s insurance strategy. In order to be considered for this area an A-level in Maths or other numerate discipline is preferable.
When you complete the programme, your journey at Marsh is really just beginning. The programme gives you a solid foundation so you can continue to add value and grow as a professional. By this stage, graduates are completely engaged in their role, have demonstrated their credibility, and have built great relationships with their team and clients. They continue to accelerate their careers beyond the programme.
Some graduates may choose to change direction and broaden their skills and knowledge via an internal transfer. A career at Marsh is limitless, with the potential for movement, international placements, continued investment and advancement.
