COVID-19 Brief: Lessons Learnt, Emerging Risks & Planning Ahead
When we last discussed COVID-19 as an ongoing risk for workplaces with our clients in our July webinar, cases in Victoria were rising, but few would have suspected we would end up in a second wave far greater than the first.
With Victoria still holding in place some of the tightest restrictions of anywhere in the world – whilst sports stadiums reopen to fans in Western Australia and Queensland – managing COVID-19 as a workplace risk is made all the more challenging when adapting to different situations depending on where you are in the country.
And despite early signs that a vaccine could be ready in record time, the suspension of the Oxford University trials amidst safety concerns reinforces the fact COVID-19 will require risk management for some time.
Which brings us to the need to evaluate your COVID-19 response.
It’s approximately six months since workplaces and the commute to work became largely unsafe due to the virus.
Where possible, workers have been sent home, and all workplaces (including those still in operation) have had to adapt to the new risk environment. Whatever the state of your workplace, you have no doubt responded and reacted to a number of new COVID-related risks in new ways.
So what’s the journey been like so far? What are the lessons learnt and what should your next steps be in the fight against COVID-19?
What's covered?
In this Brief, based on the key discussion points during our most recent webinar broadcast on 10th September, 2020, we share tips on effectively evaluating your COVID-19 response; optimising the prevention strategies you may already have in place for your organisation; and managing risks associated with your workforce still at home (which is likely to be longer than planned and in some instances, permanent).
We also look at mental health and wellbeing and what you should be doing to evaluate your COVID response, and protect your workers in this area.
