Although marijuana-derived cannabidiol (CBD) is still illegal under federal law, Congress recently created a pathway to legalize CBD created from hemp. Food and beverage companies are now scrambling to enter this niche but fast-growing market, offering a variety of new products infused with CBD, from ground beef to jelly beans and ice cream.
