Philanthropy and Employee Volunteerism
Marsh makes donations to a wide range of charitable and not-for-profit organizations. General policies and guidelines for such giving are established centrally, with country management applying them as appropriate locally.
Marsh staff are encouraged to engage with, and contribute to the well-being of their local communities. This support varies from country to country and is demonstrated in a variety of ways, including the provision of a day’s paid leave to assist on a community project and having a portion of an employee’s charitable fund-raising matched by the company.

Puerto Rican Association of the Blind (October to December 2018)
The fourth quarter of 2018 was dedicated to the Puerto Rican Association of the Blind.
Founded in 1964, the Puerto Rican association of the blind is a nonprofit organization that offers reading and writing of the Braille System. They attend to the needs of daily life through workshops and trainings for greater independence of the blind person.
Through various activities in the office from raffles, Bake Sales and breakfasts, we managed to raise enough funds for the purchase of materials and paint. The colleagues of Marsh Saldaña not only contributed monetarily, but they dedicated hours of their days to collaborate in the cleaning and painting of the structure of what is now the Association.
It is this kind of activities that remind us once again, how blessed we are, because we forget that there are people who need more support to do daily activities, such as walking the sidewalks, cleaning their homes, shopping from the pantry or just walk around the park on the corner.

Scooba Dogs Society (July to September 2018)
The third quarter of 2018 was dedicated to the cleaning of our beaches in Puerto Rico.
The colleagues of Marsh Saldaña joined together to carry out a series of activities throughout the quarter from July to September 2018, with the purpose of raising funds for the Scooba Dogs Society.
Founded in 1993, it was previously known as the Enrique Martí Coll Foundation; Scuba Dogs Society is an organization dedicated to conservation and environmental education in Puerto Rico.
- His vision is "The human being in perfect harmony with nature."
- Its mission "To model a culture of harmony with nature to educate and integrate the human being with its social-ecological environment".
Among its diversity of initiatives, the All Coast Program and the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) with over 10,000 volunteers in Puerto Rico stand out. This is the largest conservation effort in the world led by the Ocean Conservancy in around 100 countries. Every year; and of which Marsh Saldaña said present. This incredible experience took place on September 15, 2018, where around 21 colleagues and their families were participants in this noble cause.
Rabito Kontento (April to June 2018)
The second quarter of 2018 is dedicated to our dog friends.
Founded in 2012. This foundation is dedicated to rescuing abandoned animals in the streets, stabilizing them and giving them up for adoption. Its mission is to raise awareness about the abandonment of pets.
Among the various activities to raise funds, we support this function through volunteering at the foundation; cleaning, bathing the dogs, walking them, doing iventory and rebuilding its roof, which had been destroyed by the past hurricane Maria.
Down Sindrome Froundation of Puerto Rico (Jan to Mar 2018)
Our first trimester was assigned to our children with Down syndrome of Puerto Rico. The departments that led this campaign excellently were Operations, Claims and Finance.
They made a number of activities to raise funds for the foundation which were a success.
Among the activities held were the sale of Valentine's Day in the month of love and friendship, raffle tickets for beauty products and facial certificates, rich sales of grain salad, mixed sandwiches, sandwiches combos assorted with their small bottle of water included, rice with sweet and other typical sweets, pretzels, donuts, candles, lotions for the body and hands, raffle of two paintings donated by the Foundation, dolls of spoon and knitted butterflies made by one of our colleagues.
At the end of the campaign, on March 21, they celebrated the day of UNEVEN SOCKS in solidarity with the Foundation on its world day.
Activity that all the employees participated and dressed their most crazy and uneven socks, carrying the message that being different makes us unique.
Teletón, SER de Puerto Rico (June 2017)
On June 25, 2017, our colleague Maritere Maoldonado and Claudia's Girls Scouts group (her daughter) participated in the SER event in Puerto Rico, El Teletón, leading the donation of the colleagues of Marsh Saldaña, who contributed for this noble cause.
The Girl Scouts group was the first donation to the foundation, raising the amount of $ 587.00.
At the end of the event, SER managed to surpass its goal, raising $ 2.98 Million. We proudly thank Maritere and her family for attending such an important event.
CAP- Pediatric Hospital of Centro Medico (Feb & Mar 2017)
On March 16, 2017, the CAP's Uniting Heads Campaign celebrated its first fundraising event for children with cancer. Our Colleagues Mariel Navarro and Brian Fuentes led the 2017. Among these:
- On February 3, 2017, the sale of delicious shortbread cookies and mantecaditos was carried out.
- On February 14, 2017, a raffle was held among colleagues for a floral arrangement, a certificate for a facial and two certificates for a dinner.
- On the same day, our colleagues Rose Diaz and Waleska Maldonado led the sale of articles for the 2017 campaign, in solidarity with the hospital's cancer patients.
- On March 16, 2017, the campaign summit event was held at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum, Hato Rey PR; Where colleagues made donations and in support of children, shaved their heads.
